This year has been filled with amaze and fabulous things! This week we bring you part two of our hottest things from 2008. See what made the cut here...
Film of the year…
The Dark Knight
There were a few big blockbusters released this year, but The Dark Knight is the one that we ‘ooohhheeddd’ and ‘aaahhheedd’ over the most (yes, even more than SATC). This two and a half hour stunner blew our minds. Heath Ledger’s performace as The Joker was nothing short of amaze. I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone who watched this flick and wasn’t impressed…come to think of it I’ve yet to meet anyone who hasn’t even seen it. Dark, spooky and kooky; our fav flick of the year!
Are you brave enough to shave your head – even for a great cause? Although I’m a little too chicken, our gorgeous Fashion and Style Manager Anya Merryfield took the plunge earlier this year and to help raise money for child cancer. We are still so proud of Anya’s decision to bare her scalp – and to do so live on national television (hello Sunrise!). She also managed to raise around $2,000! Even better, she’s still rocking the short hair and is looking as fabulous as ever.
Just one year ago Brit Brit looked as though she was on a one way track headed for disaster! Since then she’s totally turned her life around for the better; there’s no more pink wigs, running around commando and no more hanging out with sleazy paparazos. She’s been back in the studio, working hard and it shows – we love her new album Circus! She’s turning back into her former glorious self and we are so happy to see it.
Obviously we think nzgirl is pretty damn hot (see Part 1 of the Hottest Five of 2008), but there’s a new kid on the block that we love just as much – Flossie! Flossie is the brain child of nzgirl founder and CEO, Jenene Freer. We’re so proud to see Flossie.com up and running, and kicking some serious ass. Filled with the best of the best women’s content online, whatever you need, it’s on Flossie!
When we’re feeling a little peckish we love popping over to Shaky Isles in Kingsland, Auckland for a slice of all around deliciousness. From the yummy burgers, delish salads and great chocolate milkshakes, to the seriously cute and funky cartoon characters scrawled across the walls and coffee cups, Shaky is the place to be. We could go on forever about how much we love this place – but we managed to keep down to only 10 here…
