24 Hours in Thailand: Adrenalin Challenge

They may call Thailand the land of smiles, but it’s got just as much as a reputation for its scream inducing activities! Having whizzed through New York, Paris, Hawaii and Rio, Cornish Patsy is ready to take on this amazing country in just 24 hours, getting the most out of all the thrills it has to offer.

Of course if you’re going to keep moving, you’ve got to stay pumped. Drinking the tap water in Thailand is a no-go, so make sure you stock up on plenty of bottled water. Pump’s® fantastic 1.25 litre bottles are perfect for keeping hydrated during all this activity.

6am: Begin your sojourn in the northern city of Chiang Mai. Start early with a quick snack at a roadside stall. Look for one well populated with locals – a sure sign you’re onto a good thing!

7am: Head out to an elephant camp in the countryside surrounding Chiang Mai. Riding these amazing creatures is an experience in itself, but it does take some getting used to, so hold on tight!

11am: Begin your journey back to Chiang Mai itself by rafting
down a river. Fashioned from bamboo, if you’re lucky you might even see locals making the raft, just prior to you getting on it! TRAVEL TIP: While perfectly stable, the raft can feel a bit shaky, so make sure your camera is in a waterproof bag!

1pm: Thai cuisine is delicious, so wander the main streets of Chiang Mai till you find a restaurant that tickles your fancy. Prices are great, so you can eat like a king without breaking the bank.

2pm: Stretch out your thigh muscles and climb the 200 steps that lead to Doi Suthep – one of the most famous Buddist shrines in the area. Located above the city, the views are incredible and well worth the effort to get there.

4pm: Head to the airport and catch the 4.35pm Thai Airways flight to Bangkok. The flight takes just over an hour, leaving you plenty of time to explore the city’s nightlife.

8pm: Make your way to the riverside and enjoy a dinner cruise. After such a crazy day you deserve to sit down, relax
and take in the scenery which ranges from opulent hotels to dismal shacks, tucked along the water’s edge.

10pm: After the dignified atmosphere of your river cruise, shake things up with some serious partying. Head to Bangkok’s backpacker mecca – Khao San Rd. From upscale bars to streetside cocktail vendors, this area has it all.

3am: Book yourself into a hostel on Khao San Rd and crash gratefully into your bed! The Sawasdee Banglumpoo Inn has
plenty of cheap and cheerful rooms.

Cornish Patsy has gone a bit crazy in the Thai markets and is having trouble fitting everything into her suitcase.

What are your creative packing tips? Click here to tell us and you could win a case of Pump® (24 x 750ml bottles).

The winner of today's challenge is Mary Louise of Northcote Her advice for Cornish Patsy was to...

"Ask two gorgeous British backpackers that you met in Khao San Rd to sit on your suitcase while you desperately attempt to zip it up!"

Congratulations Mary Louise! A case of Pump® is coming your way
