While it may seem like a challenge just to get out of bed with the chillier mornings, we have it on good authority that giving yourself a challenge is one of the best ways to make yourself feel better!
TAME
Send your best friend a sweet note via snail mail. No one receives anything good in the post these days, so brighten up her morning. You may have to do some advanced planning... I don’t think I know the actual street number’s of any of my friends!
Work a cup a day of green tea into your diet. Green tea is a super drink packed with health giving properties and antioxidants. It is said to lift energy levels, improve mental facilities, assist liver detox and help improve digestion. It takes a few cups to get used to the taste, but once you’re hooked, one cup a day won’t be enough.
INTERMEDIATE
Bake some muffins/ cookies/ other sweet treats and bring them into work. You’ll have fun cooking, plus you’re score huge brownie points with your colleagues. Or you could organise a bake-off and encourage everyone to bring homemade goods for a shared morning tea.
Get your winter clothes out of storage and work out what needs dry-cleaning, repairing and throwing away, then deal with each pile straightaway! Once you’ve assessed what you’ve got then work out what you need, so you have an idea of what you’re looking for when you next hit the shops.
CHALLENGING
Take up a hobby. I know, I know... a hobby sounds like something old people do, but having something creative to work on is very satisfying. Whether it’s dabbling with a paintbrush, learning to sew or starting a herb garden, find something you enjoy doing and get the equipment you need to get started.
Make the ultimate ‘To-Do List’. Spend some time sitting down and thinking about all the things you want to do in your lifetime If that’s too scary, then stick to the next 10 years, five years or even the next six months. Once you’ve written those things down you’ll feel much more committed to making them happen.
