I know, I know, if you hear one more thing about new year resolutions to lose weight, save money or to get a new job you are going to throw something at your computer screen, so we promise to refrain.
Challenges are fun and in some cases hugely beneficial so we have rustled up a few more for the month of January.
TAME
Start planning your Valentines Day. God is in the details so if you want to do something super special for your other half it pays to be organised. If you haven’t got anyone in mind then now is the time to start looking!
Put your friends' birthdays in your diary. There is nothing worse than forgetting your friend's birthday. Win bonus points by putting their birthdays and a two week before reminder in your diary so you can get a heads up on buying them a present.
INTERMEDIATE
Expand your musical horizons. We all have a certain genre we are comfortable with and once we have decided what that is, we tend to become closed off to other musical delights. Grab a guy friend, a cousin or somebody you know who listens to different music to you and raid their collection and try out a few new bands. Even better hit up some concerts around your area and see them live in concert.
Brush up on your history, politics or art knowledge. I know it may sound like a homework assignment but for many of us once we leave university/school/polytech we start starving the brain of interesting information. So pick up a beginner's guide to Nietzsche or a book on contemporary modern art and start reading. You never know when it might come in handy!
CHALLENGING
Delete old numbers from your phone. You know which ones I’m talking about. The numbers of boys you pashed in the pub, the hairdresser you don’t want to use anymore, the ‘friend’ you were never really going to catch up with and DELETE! Clear the space for the new and exciting people you’re going to meet in 2006.
Load up the car for the weekend and drive. Don’t plan where you’re going, when you are going to stop or where you’re going to sleep…just go. There is nothing more fun than flying by the seat of your pants and you should take every advantage of being young and carefree while you still can. This plan is made a lot better with great friends and plenty of snaps to remember the trip.
