At a loose end? Take a step outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself to try something different...
TAME
Enter a challenge like next year’s Special K Duathlon (us girls in the office have decided to give this one a go). This is only a tame challenge at the moment cause all you have to think about is registering (and maybe coming up with a training plan).
Give your partner a massage – not only will you score some brownie points, but if you’re extra lucky he’ll return the favour!
INTERMEDIATE
Take a little “me” time. Buy a face mask, run an aromatherapy bath and soak the day’s stresses away with some soft candle light, soothing sounds and a trashy book.
Alternatively host a Girls’ Night In for your best friends. Everyone brings a bottle of wine and a beauty treatment (ie. nail equipment, foot spa, massage oil, curlers) then spend the night pampering and gossiping.
Start a journal. While this may sound tame, developing the discipline to stick to it and regularly jot down your thoughts can be hard work. But don’t feel restricted by the traditional “diary” format. You may like to keep a photographic record, or use it as a space to keep clippings, articles and quotes that inspire you. Promise yourself not to say one bad thing about yourself for the next day/ week/ month. Not only must you banish bad thoughts, but you also need to accept all compliments with a thank you.
