Technically there are only a few days left in August, but we thought we’d give you one more week’s worth of challenges seeing as you’re all loving them so much!
We’ve had so much great feedback about this month’s theme and are so stoked you’ve enjoyed it. Because we know so many of you have been getting on board and enjoying the challenges we’d like you to flick us an email by pressing the button below.
Then in a few months we’ll send you a little reminder email to see if you’re still on track with the goals you set for yourself (we know how easily these things can slip by the wayside!).
TAME
Negotiate your way around town on public transport. This can be more than a tame challenge at the time, but ease the pain by planning your journey. Think of the multitasking you can accomplish in the morning - reading, talking to friends, listening to music, sleeping even! If you’re in Auckland head to www.maxx.co.nz
Rekindle those “auf wiedersehens”, “konichiwas” or even “kia oras”- you never know where a language will take you. Most community classes at your local school offer night classes of some description or take it a little further and look into a University level degree. If you’re really feeling adventurous, look a little further a field in the country of your choice and see if they offer a crash course in the language.
Put aside all your prejudice against straight leg jeans - they’re hot! Get yourself a pair now!
INTERMEDIATE
Step out of a rut - if every weekend you just end up doing the same old-same old, spend some time thinking of an alternative to your usual social activities. Check out our weekly What’s On for inspiration.
Ask that boy/girl out… stop overanalysing it’s just a drink! There’s no point jumping ahead of yourself in the romance stakes if you can’t even cope with the prospect of a quick tipple with a certain someone. Do it, just do it…(If you need inspiration check out our article "How to Ask a Guy Out" here)
Set the alarm a little bit earlier to create some you time when the house is all yours. Read a book, try out some yoga moves, spend some extra time in the shower, just lie there preparing yourself for the day or get up and watch the sunrise- you’d only have to get up about 6.50am at the moment to catch it.
CHALLENGING
Share yourself around - volunteering is a great way to give something back to your community. Sports teams are always looking for coaches, managers and referees and there’s a plethora of fantastic not-for-profit organisations around. Click here for some ideas to get you started.
Not happy with the world? Voice your opinion- via a blog, petition, letter to the editor or go straight for the jugular and send the offending person/group a letter to let them know how you feel. Find out how to get blogging here.
Hopefully this month has inspired you to take a risk and make changes for the better. Formulate your dreams and aspirations into some solid goals that you want to achieve - write them on post-its and stick them on your mirror, keep them on a little card in your wallet, stick them on your dashboard or on the shower door - anywhere that keeps them fresh in your mind.
