Whilst we were wrapped up in New Zealand Fashion Week , New York was just ending theirs. We have had a look through the runways and found our favourite trends that will be heading our way for next spring, as well as inspiring the knock off loving chainstores now!
So Very Sheer
Designers played with transparency by using soft focus fabrics like chiffon as well as cut away fabric treatments. Outfits were built layer upon layer or deconstructed by cutting away each layer. The result was really stark modern shiloettes or very soft feminine ones.

So Very Sulptural
Pleats and ruffles similar to those we saw at Trelise as well as unusual fabric treatments and luxe detailing. It’s a little point of difference, and one that is already heading our way for winter collections.

Short Suits
Suiting and seperates with a shorter feel. From cropped pants to mini skirts and matching blazers. These were everywhere and are much less scary when paired back with hoisery.

Big Brights
Writers overseas are calling them Miami colours – the super light and bright bold colours are definitely key for Spring Summer 09. However more traditional hues like reds and blues are evident.

Prints
From so very ethnic at Marc Jacobs to light and floaty feminine florals. The runways were aburst with prints, pefect style updaters for more basic shiloettes.
