October Challenges: Detox Your Life!

Welcome to October, the month of the great nzgirl Detox! This month our challenges are designed to help you revive, refresh and recharge your life! So get started by ditching whatever's holding you back, and get ready to say a hello to a brand new and improved you!

TAME
Detox your diary. Feel like you’ve never got time to relax? Get out that diary, organize your life and make a date with you. Mark out days and even a few hours here and there completely dedicated to disturb-free you time.

Give yourself a make-over
This could be anything from a nice pampering afternoon (think a lush rejuvenating bath and DIY facial), a new look (a sexy new haircut or a daring colour through your hair), or even a simply-you new outfit to give yourself a fresh look. Cleansing starts with making yourself feel good, so radiate those positive vibes by treating yourself first!

INTERMEDIATE
Clear out your wardrobe
Revive your look by getting rid of drab old clothes and de-clutter your room at the same time! This double-detox is good for the soul and good for fashion. There are some things you just don’t need anymore so let them be gone! On your way to detoxing your life, start with the literal baggage first.

Try meditation
It may sound a little kooky but meditation has a calming and focusing effect that can put you into a better head space. Basically you’re trying to get beyond “conditioned” thinking into a deeper state of relaxation and awareness. If things are a little stressful, then detox your head with this calming technique aimed at promoting a deeper self-awareness.

CHALLENGING
Commit to an exercise routine
If you’re not already a regular exerciser then get yourself a plan and stick to it. Detoxing is all about placing old bad habits with new good ones so make sure you’re out there and active, being healthy and feeling great!

Detox your body
Give your body a break from all those nasties and give it a chance to rejuvenate and cleanse. Your liver, skin and digestive tract don’t appreciate those boozy nights as much as you do so switch the beer for some water and those sugary and fatty foods for some good ol’ fruit and vege.
