Top 5 Trends from Fashion Week

Fashion Week is over, and whilst the writers and industry folks are relaxing after a week of waiting, high heels and too much Moet, there is still some work to be done!

We have tracked some of our favourite trends from fashion week to show you what you can expect next season.

The trends below are just a taste of what’s coming in for the new season. This includes everything from back detailing (this one is a biggie – volume and detailing all towards the back of garments) to the colour blue. Below are my favourite top five trends direct from the runway…

Sparkle and shine
Sequins, shine and embellishments were everywhere, and they were a nifty way to update basics as well as bring a lavish touch to more evening looks.

1: Trelise Cooper
2: World
3: Yvonne Bennetti

A whiter shade of pale
Although white is normally a shade reserved for summer, this season it also seen reigns supreme for winter, with soft blush petal shades through to silvery stark whites seen on the runways. Our tip: Snap up a white dress for both summer and winter wear.

1: Karen Walker
2: Kirrily Johnston
3: Laurie Foon

Ruffles
From the floral like ruffles at Trelise, to Deborah’s 90s ruffles on denim pinafores, there’s no denying, the little lacey bits of fabric are back.

1: Chelsea Thorpe
2: Deborah Sweeney
3: Trelise Cooper

1t’s the 90s
Have you still got your favourite clothes from the 90s? Now is the time to bring them back out of the closet, with 90s silhouettes returning in everything from suiting to street wear. Say hello to front pleated trousers!

1: Salasai
2: Lonely Hearts
3: Crowded Elevator

Not so LBD
Your best friend the dark evening dress gets all floor length and dramatic. This Sera Lilly style was a show stopper!

1: Sera Lilly
2: Jaeha
3: Juliette Hogan
