Got a big date coming up or just after a sexy new hair style? We share our favourite celeb inspired hair styles from the gorgeous and easy to achieve bed head, to the sleek, straight look made easy with straightners!
The bed head toussle
Inspiration:Bridgette Bardot
Why we love it: Bridgette Bardot is the symbol of sexiness with her big ruffled, bed head hair. The fact that it’s super simple to achieve is just another bonus!
How to work it: Take your dry hair and rub a little sea spray, or salt hair product through your hands. Rub through your hair to the tips and then use the cool setting on your hair dryer to dry your hair back down. A quick spray of flexible hold hair spray keeps the fly aways at bay and maintains the volume from the salt hair product. You can achieve this look also using a cream definer product and messily scrunching hair before setting the product and the hair with the cool setting on your hair dryer. Or of course you could just roll around on your bed…
The sexy pull back
Inspiration:Cameron Diaz
Why we love it: There is something really sexy and haphazard about simply pulling your tousled hair back into a loose ponytail because it speaks volumes about confidence and care free attitudes!
How to work it: Start with unbrushed hair and using a comb brush the upper section of your hair and apply straightening balm. This will be the smooth sleek top of the hair, whilst the ponytail will have all the volume. Pull hair back to form a slick but slightly loose pony tail and secure with a hair tie. Using a medium to light hold hair spray finish the hair to avoid humidity frizz.
The Straight and Sleek
Inspiration: Scarlett Johansson
Why we love it: A super sleek do is definitely the modern take on sexiness, not only is it sleek and ‘fierce’ it just begs to be ruffled up! Even though Miss Johansson is known for her curls, I love her best with sleek hair.
How to work it: You need straightners to get the best effect, and whilst everyone has their own methods for straighter success, my biggest tip would be to work in sections from the back to the front. If you find that by the front your back sections aren’t as straight or tidy as you would like, resist the urge to go back and re-straighten. Remember that every pass of your straighter depletes your hair of moisture, so go back over unruly sections with a blow dryer instead! And of course use a great hair protectant to not only protect your hair, but keep your straight locks straight for longer.
