Sextember isn’t just about sex, it’s about making all aspects of your life orgasmic - even your fitness plan! Here are our fav five sexiest exercises to help get your body toned and in shape, and give you that much needed rush of endorphins...
Pole dancing Think pole dancing is just for males entertainment? Well no more! It is now offered throughout New Zealand as a perfectly acceptable exercise. It is amazing for toning and building muscle and also increasing your flexibility. Don’t scoff and think it's all about shimmying around the pole, once you've got the basics, you will be hanging upside down, being held up just by your legs! And how do you think you get back up the right way?
With your abs! It is a lot of fun, done in a professional manner (i.e. a proper gym/room not out the back of the White House) and will probably make you excited about your next workout. And just imagine how impressed your man (or soon to be man) would be if you got the chance to show off your moves. Although we wouldn't recommend using the basketball hoop pole in front of his mates...
Salsa/Tango dancing Think Dirty Dancing, think close bodies with knees in places usually reserved for private moments and hot bodies pressed close against each other. And you can do this with complete strangers if you want, all while getting your daily dose of 30 mins push play (I bet the pulses will definitely be racing above the percentage required to burn fat). Basically it is a dance style that has been around for hundreds of years, and is a whole lot of fun.
Who hasn’t watched dancing with the stars and wished they could look that cool, sassing around the room? You can wear beautiful dresses, get active and meet some cool new people, or go to classes with your friends and catch up for a gossip and a shake afterwards.
Kegel Exercises Kegel exercises are all about strengthening your lovely lady bits, which is said to increase pleasure during sex. You don’t work up a sweat (unless you get super hot focusing on that area) and you don’t need special workout gear, in fact you can do it while your watching TV! Kegel exercises are about focusing on your pelvic floor muscles, learning how to control and contract them and then hopefully reaping the benefits when you’re next getting some action in the sack! This is one exercise that is truly sexy, and a hard one to excuse your way out of. Click here for more!
Personal training at the gym Have you ever had warm down stretches done with your personal trainer? If you have, you know what I mean when I say it is pretty ‘up close and personal’, and if you haven’t, well book yourself one with that hunk at your gym and prepare to go red with embarrassment (but at least it will be hidden behind your red workout face). When you do workouts with a PT, you are often close as they spot you on the weights, or check you are doing your floor exercises right, causing your personal space to definitely be invaded (by a hot, fit bloke if you choose your PT wisely).
And as I mentioned before, the warm down exercises and stretches are definitely so interesting that you can help but imagine you both without clothes (I’m sure they stole some of the stretches from Karma Sutra!).
Sex Sex is exercise! Instead of dragging yourself to the gym five days a week, just go three times and save the other two ‘appointments’ for engaging in some hot ‘n’ heavy action in the bedroom. As with any exercise it is always important to ‘warm up’ to increase muscle flexibility and reduce the chances of injury. And definitely don’t cheat yourself any less than 30 mins of this intensive (and pleasurable) cardiovascular workout!
