Top 5 tips to get in shape for summer

If you are tired of the bikini-body-blues striking every summer, take action! There is still time before the Christmas season to undergo some serious toning and get your silhouette sorted for summer! Read on for  tips on how to get the beach body you want!
 
1: Swap your weekly lunch date for a walk
The Sex and the City style lunch date is a favourite for girls who love to eat, drink and gossip! But lazy lunches can have a huge impact on our figures and our wallets! Restaurant food is generally heavier than food you prepare yourself (which is why it tastes so good). Of course these dates with the girls can’t be abandoned altogether.

Try packing your lunch at home and meeting with your friends for a walk instead. A lunch break is the perfect time to get out and about! Getting active will help fight off the afternoon energy slump, get your muscles working and is a great way to catch up with friends!
 
2: Take the stairs
We have all cast a guilty glance at the stairs before hopping in the lift, but now is the time to ditch this habit! It seems small, but little things can make all the difference on the path to toned thighs! The stairs get your legs working and if you take them regularly, results will follow! If you work on level 15, start by walking down the stairs and slowly make it your goal to walk up them!
 
3: Try new things!
Exercise can be unappealing for many reasons, a common one being boredom. It is important to keep your exercise programme diverse, your body needs change, to work the different areas of your body and keep you excited about exercise! Try something new to get you invigorated this summer! We recommend looking into the classes on offer at your local gym. Classes are fun and completely different to anything you would do on your own.
 
4: Pamper

At the end of a busy day the last thing you feel like sometime is a busy gym session. Yoga is a perfect compromise, and can easily be done at home (with the help of a DVD or book to guide you).
