This month our hairstyles have a ruffled edge with softness, a little curl and a tres chic short do. Forget sleek, slick hair this month - our hot hairstyles are all about texture! A little tousleIt’s like a soft version of a beachy, beddy wave. We love the way the hair falls into soft romantic curls and how easy the look is to achieve even with dead straight hair! Inspiration: Alicia Silverstone 1: Take hair that is damp to the touch and spritz with a curl creating spray, I like TGI Uptight Heat Creating Curl Maker. Spritz in sections midway down the hair to create a wave.
2: Dry on a low heat by running your hands through your hair and sectioning out in to curls whilst drying the hair. 3: Take a little light weight moulding paste in your hands and run through your hair to define and add shine. 4: Spray hair all over with a light spray of flexible hold. Quick tip: For more curl, curl the hair closest to your face using the GHD curling method here. This will make the overall look of the hair more curlier without the work! The chic shortieSo often Katie rocks her super cute short hair as a sleek and slick bob, this natural look is still defined and refined but has a softer feel. Great for the transition from winter into warmer weather. Inspiration: Katie Holmes
1: Dry hair with a hairdryer and then straighten the parts closest to the face, such as fringe on a gentle heat to create smooth lines without squashing down the volume! 2: Take a sleek hair creating product and rub through the palms of your hand before running through dry hair. The aim is to create sleek smoothed hair without frizzy fly aways. 3: Lastly a little definition paste worked haphazardly through the hair using only your finger tips keeps hair light and light, whilst keeping the soft natural look. Quick tip: If you have long hair you can create this same feel by leaving the hair out closest to your face and pinning or tying back the rest of your locks.
The pulled back toussleProving that curls can be just as sophisticated as an Anna Wintour sleek do, this pulled back head of curls gives just the right finish to Lauren's outfit. Inspiration: Lauren Conrad 1: Curl your hair using the GHD method here for a natural wave from the bottom of the neck down the length of your hair. Keep your hair smooth and sleek above this to give the curl as much impact as possible. 2: Set the curl in place with a light mist of flexible hold hairspray and allow to set for a moment before taking the hair in your hands and securing in a low ponytail. If your hair is long secure the ponytail with a barrette clip to make sure you keep the curl. If your hair is a bit shorter secure with a hair tie. 3: Bring your curly hair ponytail over your shoulder for the Lauren Conrad effect! Quick tip: If you have naturally curly hair simply do the reverse, straightening the top of your naturally curly locks! Anya Merryfield |
