The struggle for women to gain the vote in New Zealand is represented on our country's $10 note, not just with the image of Kate Sheppard, the leader of the suffrage movement within New Zealand, but also with the white camellia flower.
Why? Because this beautiful flower was given to members of parliament who supported the bill to give women the vote by the suffragettes.
Now the symbol of the fight for the vote, white camellias are also the inspiration for one of our favourite looks, packed with delicate floaty pale chiffons, floral notes and petal hues. Let the little white flower inspire your very own style...
From left: Chloe, Roberto Cavalli and Alexander McQueen. Have a Floral Moment
Inspiration: Chloe Flowers are huge for summer but the tail end of winter is getting a great deal of flowers coming through as well. Don’t want to comitt to the trend? Choose something small like a brooch or bracelet instead.
Inspiration: Roberto Cavalli When white and cream are in delicate chiffons and silks they look even more feminine. We liken the pale floaty fabrics to the petals of a flower.
