Toffee Pops Desserts
What’s not to love really? First Mallowpuffs went and outdid themselves and now New Zealand’s other fave choccie bikkie has been pimped out with the addition of the new Toffee Pops Desserts range released this month. The three packets we were sent disappeared pronto – there were no complaints over the deliciousness of Dark Chocolate and Orange Torte, Banoffee Pie (that’s Banana and Caramel for the uninitiated) or the decadent Tiramisu with a hint of mocha. While these may be designed to reward yourself at the end of a busy day, we say why not treat yourself whenever you feel the need. Indulge a little – you deserve it! $3.40 from your supermarket.

Pacific Heights
The news that kiwi solo act Pacific Heights is not only on the cusp of bringing out a new album, but about to go on tour is too good to keep on the d-low. I fell in love with Pacific Heights (aka DJ Reno/Devin Abrams of Shapeshifter fame) when I heard his song Lavenia. Five years later he’s releasing another CD that I’ve also fallen heavily for. Where previously there was more of a laidback Christchurch DnB sound, this new album In a Quiet Storm takes on more of a Wellington nu soul and hip hop vibe, and features the likes of Joe Dukie, Ladi6, Pdigsss and Lisa Tomlins. Get in line August 18 to pick up the album and get your hands on tickets for the album tour also in September.

Break the Silence on Domestic Violence
Ever the fruit of icon Anita Roddick, the Body Shop continue their tradition of looking out for more than just the bottom line with the launch of their great initiative – Break the Silence on Domestic Violence. Based on the notion of celebrating the beauty of your friendships by helping to stop violence in the home, the Body Shop have brought out a special 'For Me, For You’ Shea Lip Care Duo, with one luscious lip balm for you and one for someone special. As well as encouraging you and your girlfriends to enjoy soft, moisturized lips, the campaign also encourages you to share your thoughts, fears and hard times with those close to you as well. Gossip Girl
Being a first-time-around Dawson’s Creek (there I said it) lover, and a fan of the early OC, it was only natural that I’ve been very much looking forward to the release of Gossip Girl on our shores. Set on the Upper East Side of NY, Gossip Girl takes a voyeuristic look into the lives of status obsessed trustafarian teens with too much money, technology and time at their fingertips – who, thanks to the all seeing eyes of the anonymous Gossip Girl blog know as much about each other as you do. You won’t want to miss the first episode that starts on Friday August 15, 8.30pm on TV2 with a two hour blockbuster premiere - you're going to love it!

Red Bull Soundclash
Will you stay in and watch Gossip Girl, or will you My Sky it to watch the next day as you recover from your night at the Red Bull Soundclash? We’re also pretty excited about the upcoming Red Bull Soundclash – the only problem will be deciding which nzgirl diva to align with, Lani Perkis of Elemeno P or Tyra Hammond of Opensouls. On August 15 the two bands will battle it out, head to head, at Shed 2 in the Auckland Viaduct. MC Brooke Howard-Smith will be calling the shots, but the winner on the night will be decided by a crowd vote.
