Want to be ahead of the curve when it comes to beauty news and reviews? Beauty blogging is the new big thing, allowing you get great reviews, tips and feedback on the huge array of beauty products on the market. From budget reviews, to blogs of beauty editors from around the globe, Anya shares her top five beauty blogs here...
Think of Beauty Brains as similar to having a cosmetic scientist in your handbag at all times! From deciphering advertising jargon to explaining if we all need to use toner (not all of us do evidently), this is a great first port of call for those who don’t know a thing about beauty, but don’t want to be sucked in by crazy beauty claims. Beauty Brains regularly answers questions from readers – the answers are always fantastic, so if you a question be sure to fire it through!
Whilst other beauty editors can get all serious over nail polish or derma relaxants, Fruity Beauty knows that makeup is fun, and works to keep it that way! Based just over the ditch in Australia, it means the products reviewed are available here or just a few short hours away! Fruity Beauty is hilarious, even if you're bored stiff by makeup I'd read it anyway as it is just that funny!
OK, I'm tooting my own horn here, but like I care! Along with my love for celeb fashion lines, are countless beauty reviews. Everything I write about on the blog I rub into my skin, line my eyes with and read the ingredients lists. For every beautiful product that gets a review, there are about ten that don’t make the cut. So if I say it’s good - it is. Sometimes I am even able to convince people to share the beauty love, which means that you get to try the products I’m so fond of!
This blogger works part time and is a student getting through college, so she knows a thing or too about budget beauty! Reviewing products that don’t cost an arm and a leg (there are no La Prairie reviews here kids!), and fond of product comparisons (Loreal vs MAC - who is better?), this blog is great reading for those who can’t afford to buy every thing out there, and don’t want to be tormented by things they simply can’t afford.
I’ve recently become addicted to Pretty Pretty Pretty – a local beauty blog. What’s not to love with this little blog mantra - “This site is about the things that we like that make us look good, smell good and feel good. We will never tell you what you have to wear, or try to make you feel bad about yourself or inadequate. We have no problems buying supermarket-level products, but do have a preference for brands that have ethical considerations”. Fantastic!
